#SundaySpins with Carley: Bleached

Welcome to #SundaySpins, a weekly blog series that highlights a record that you NEED to be listening to right this minute! If you’re looking for some tunes to blast through your headphones or speakers, then keep on reading, this is for you!

This week, I’d like to formally introduce you to a badass Californian punk band by the name of Bleached. Bleached has been around for a few years, yet I am only just discovering them. I found them on Spotify a few months ago and I instantly fell in love with their sound. I immediately went out and bought both of their albums on vinyl and I have been spinning them non-stop ever since!

“Ride Your Heart”, the first album from Bleached, is what I call summer in a record. Each song is full of sunshine, surfers and hazy summer air. Every aspect of this album has me imagining myself riding in a convertible with the top down, on my way to the beach, with Bleached blasting over the speakers. One track in particular, “Guy Like You”, will definitely have you feeling like you’re lounging on a beach somewhere tropical. With those freezing Canadian temperatures looming over us here in Toronto, “Ride Your Heart” has been my go to album as of late.

Anyway, if you feel those cold weather blues creeping up on you, I recommend you give “Ride Your Heart” a spin. Who needs a parka when I have these summery Bleached vibes coming out of my headphones? Not me! Ha ha, just kidding, I still need my parka because it’s cold here in Canada, but “Ride Your Heart” definitely makes the cold weather a little more bearable.
