How Are Things? – January Update

Hey y’all. You may have noticed things have been quiet here on the blog this week. Well, first off…2016 seems to be starting off with a lot of really unfortunate events. Losing David Bowie & Alan Rickman, Aaron Solowoniuk having to step down temporary as drummer for Billy Talent (#FUMS), multiple barn fires in Ontario…16 days into the year and the world is ending. So I’ve just been feeling a little less inspired than usual to update.

Also just had the thought to check and yep, Mercury is in retrograde. This cannot be a coincidence, MR always treats me like a worthless piece of trash. Here we are again.

My personal thoughts are that you shouldn’t just post for the sake of posting (within reason…don’t take 3 years off because you’re “not feeling it”), so I have refrained from giving y’all passionless filler content. Instead, I’ve been taking these last few days to assess where the blog is at and where I want it to go. I’ve also been looking at my socials to see how I can improve this year.

January Update

Here’s the plan so far:

– Now that I’ve figured out Pinterest, delete everything and make better boards

– Focus on YouTube because it’s fun and collaborative and I love it

– Start reaching out to labels/bands/industry workers for interviews

– Find some sort of “blogger hangouts” in Toronto so I can get to know other bloggers

– Do a cleanup of the blog/socials to make sure everything matches the current ~aesthetic~

I often try to do too many things at once and end up neglecting parts that are important, so I have to make smaller goals to keep me in check.

If you have things that you want to see more or less of, let me know so I can adjust accordingly! I’m really enjoying everything here and all the new people I’ve spoken to because of it all. Let’s hope after Mercury get its shit together, everything goes back to some sort of normal and we can have a better 2016.

God, you are just the WORST.

What are your plans for this year? How can the rest of us here help you to reach your 2016 goals?
