Current Obsession: Checkerboard

I’ve spent the past 5+ years wearing all black — less because I refuse to grow out of my emo phase and more because I’m attempting not to clash with my ever-changing hair. However, I’ve found a few girls on Instagram who’ve inspired me to think outside the box. Each of them has dyed hair, but their style seems bolstered by this instead of hindered. I realized this is a “me” problem and not an “us” problem. I’ve spent the winter quietly absorbing ideas for outfits, and with spring on the way… I am ready.

There are a few things I need to work on. First on the list has to be “finding an alternative to black jeans” but after that… the options are unlimited.

Side note: did anyone else read the word “unlimited”… and then… together we’re, unLLIIIIIMITED, togETHER WE’LL BE THE GREATEST TEAM THERE’S EVER BEEN… GLINDA… dreams the way we planned em, if we work in tandem, thERE’S NO FIGHT WE CANNOT WIN, JUST YOU AND IIIIII DEFYYYYYING GRAVITY?

…anyway. My current obsession is anything checkerboard. I’ve already picked up a windbreaker and a crop tee (which I’ll link below). I’m about 3 seconds away from customizing a pair of Vans. I think this is my starting point to creating a wardrobe I actually enjoy. If I don’t find a pair of checkerboard jeans above a size 27, I will scream. Below I’ve collected the things I’m currently loving, so read on if you’re on the lookout for some new spring style choices too!

I feel like I’m going to end up incorporating yellow as well, since every band decided that was the cool new merch colour. At first I hated it, but now I keep stealing Aaron’s Coldfront hoodie. What’s on your mind for spring?
